Industrial production: -5.2% in the fourth quarter

STATEC recently published activity indices in industry and construction for the fourth quarter of 2011.

After decreasing by 1.4% during the third quarter of 2011, the Luxembourg index of industrial production, corrected for seasonal effects, fell by 5.2% during the last quarter. The decline in the industrial sector in Luxembourg is more pronounced than in neighboring countries: the growth rates were -2.0% in Germany, -0.9% in France and -0.8% in Belgium. In EU27, the industrial activity has declined by -1.5% in the last quarter of 2011.
