The number of job seekers decreases by 6.1 % over a year

The number of available resident jobseekers registered at the ADEM is 16 599 as of January 31, 2018. Over one year, this represents a decrease of 1 077 people, or 6.1 %. The rate of unemployed, adjusted for seasonal variations, was 5.6 %. The decline particularly benefits jobseekers under the age of 30 (-8.1 %) and low-skilled jobseekers (-11.1 %). The number of long-term unemployed has decreased by 9.2 %. However, the number of jobseekers who attended post-secondary education rose by 6.8 %.
