In Europe, immigration has no negative effect on the well-being of the native population

Immigration has become one of the most debated topics in Europe today, following the refugee crisis and the election of anti-immigrant governments. Yet, a new analysis by STATEC Research of 24 European countries over the years 1990-2017 demonstrates that increasing immigrant population shares have no aggregate effect on natives’ well-being, contrary to a commonly accepted opinion.
