Use of ICT by households
Almost all resident households have Internet access (97%) in 2016. The few unconnected households do not need it, declare a lack of skills or have access elsewhere. They are almost exclusively households without children or teenagers in their homes. 95% of Internet users connect daily or almost daily, mostly via their smartphone (83%); 80% connect outside their home and workplace.
The 2016 special module of the ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) survey concerns "Privacy and protection of personal identity". It reveals that only 8% of Internet users have not disclosed personal information on the Internet. 4 out of 10 Internet users said they had read the privacy policy before providing personal information on the internet and 6 out of 10 had restricted access to their geographical location and / or limited access to their profile or content on social networking sites.
