The rise of the services sector in Luxembourg

Since the mid-1970s, service activities play a major role in the Luxembourgish economy. In general, service activities are growing faster than industrial or construction activities. Financial services as well as business services have contributed the most to the creation of national wealth. This tendency can also be observed in the growth of employment.
