12-2014 Protection of private dwellings and video surveillance in public places in Luxembourg

The 2013 safety survey indicates that in Luxembourg, 27% of homes are equipped with a burglar alarm and 57% have special safety locks. Detached or semi-detached houses are more often provided with both of these security measures than row houses and apartments. According to the same source, 70% of residents believe that video surveillance of public places in Luxembourg increase their own safety, 23% think that it has no impact and 3% are even of the opinion that it reduces their own safety.
